FAMILIA GANGSTERS
BRAZIL
Release - Família Gangsters (english)

Emerging from the concrete jungle of São Paulo, the cultural mecca of Brazil, the band Família Gangsters arose in the year of 2005 with the challenge of developing a musical fusion that would reflect the cosmopolitan diversity found in the biggest city of the american continent.

Consisting of vocalist and bass player Pedro Lobo, guitarrist Marcos Mossi, and drummer/samples, Felipe Gomide, the trio combines tradicional brazilian rhythms with worldwide tendencies, such as the jamaican ska and dub, and spices of rock'n roll. By using samples the band rescue ancient rhythms, melodies and sounds of regional brazilian groups, and transposes it in an original and contemporary language.

The great caractheristic of the band is it's strong identity, that combines music with an effervescent social movement; besides the band the "Família" have also a tourism agency (Gangstoor Eco-musiculturismo) that has made more than fourty journeys for many paradises in Brazil, attending more than 2000 young brazilians. The band's innovating music, the eco-tourism, social activism, and the promotion of tradicional and ethnic groups, are always meld with ideals of positivity, human awareness, and valorization of natural resources.
